PYO fruit spots in Wellington

Blueberry Fields Forever

There are a lot of blueberry spots around Wellington, but Blueberry Fields Forever in Upper Hutt takes the cake for me. The owner Carolann is a delight, there are cute ol' dogs running about, plus bees making honey for the blueberry honey ice cream you can buy onsite! And of course the blueberry bushes themselves are easily accessible and dripping with fruit.

Penray Gardens

Honestly, what don't these guys grow? Penray Gardens are located just shy of Ōtaki, about an hour north of Wellington. They offer fruit varieties throughout summer and autumn - strawberries and plums in the warmer months; pears, apples and feijoas when it starts cooling down. They also have a wide range of vegetables on offer!

Ration Creek Orchard

Ration Creek Orchard is located in Pāuatahanui, about half an hour north of Wellington, and deals exclusively in apples. Say hello to some Kunekune pigs that live onsite while you browse rows and rows for the perfect apple-y specimen. Weigh your bag or basket before you start picking!
